Sculptamold® is a white, non-toxic, cellulose
based compound that combines the best features of clay,
plaster, and papier mache.
Sculptamold®
while
being lightweight like papier mache, does not shrink.
It can be cast into various types of mould inlcuding
silicone and plaster. Sculptamold® sets hard
in approx 30 min, so
prepare only as much as can be used in a half hour of
modeling time.
After
shaking the closed bag to thoroughly blend contents,
add water to Sculptamold® as directed on the bag
and begin modeling. It can be applied to an armature
or any base without fear of cracking. It can be worked
with tools, or by hand.
Allow
it to air dry for several days. The drying process can
be shortened by placing in an oven at low temp.Finished
pieces are very lightweight, strong and durable, and
may be carved, sanded or shaped with tools.
Sculptamold®
surfaces
can be decorated with any paint. Sculptamold is not
waterproof, but a finished piece can be made water resistant
with clear lacquer, varnish, or gloss acrylic. Finished
pieces are lightweight, but also strong and durable.
Sculptamold pieces are shatter and break resistant.
